Fords Landing and Beach, Long Island, Bahamas

Far South
Fords Landing beach, Long Island, Bahamas
A view of the landing, looking north.
There are TWO Fords Landings.  The northern one for which directions follow is directly on the Caribbean.  The southern one is in a bay and can have strong currents.

DIRECTIONS:  Heading south: From the road to Cabbage Point, it’s only 3/4 mile to the road on the right that goes to Fords Landing.  If you get to the road on the left to Wood Hill Farm, you’ve gone 0.6 mile too far.  Just turn around.  Or better, just continue on to Gordons.  It’s MUCH nicer!  Heading north: This means you’ve been to Gordons.  You’ll pass the road on the right to Wood Hill Farm.  The next left will take you to Fords Landing.

We’ve only been there once, to scope it out and to say we’ve been there.  It does have a boat ramp which is actively used.  It’s a short distance between Fords and Cabbage Point which could make for a nice walk.  I’m certain that Hurricane Joaquin wiped out many of the trees.  But I’m hoping it didn’t wipe out what must be  Long Island’s crapper with the best beach view.

A two holer.  And what a view!  Give me a paper and a cup of coffee and I’d never get off the throne.
